Meadow Connections 2018...

We will be showing the wonderful film produced by the Moonbeam Collective, "Streams of Wonder" on the Sunday of the festival 15th July, around 12 noon.

Streams of Wonder explores, through the eyes of a young walker, the landscape and culture of this wonderful part of England. You are taken on a mystical journey, by rivers and streams, through woods and dales to meet the likes of farmers and fell runners, canoeists and cavers, cyclists and scythers, artists and artisans. Slow down to the pace of the seasons and natural rhythms and immerse yourself in the timeless glory of the landscape and discover ‘the Heart of the Yorkshire Dales’ Some viewers comments about Streams Of Wonder:

'A wonderful evening. Beautiful, mesmerising, emotional, uplifting film'

'Wow - amazing film, felt as if I was there, very relaxing, the music was great and the filming perfect. I would love to see it again'

'I found the film really mesmerising, impressionistic in a way that carried me well into Heart of the Dales…'

Meadow Connections 2017...

The first Meadow Connections gathering took place between the 7th and 9th July 2017 on the beautiful Lower Winskill Farm near Settle in North Yorkshire. The idea of the weekend was to create opportunities for people to engage with and understand the increasingly rare habitats of upland hay meadows through a series of workshops on art, craft, botany, beekeeping, herbal medicine, pottery and scything. The weekend was also a celebration of our region's food with delicious homemade culinary delights making full use of local produce.

The farm was also host to the Northern Scythe Championships which took place on the Sunday where scythesmen and women from all over the United Kingdom competed against each other for the title of "Northern Scythe Champion".

We hope you will be able to join us in 2018 for more Meadow Connections magic.

Many thanks indeed to Tony Crossland and his excellent photography
